In addition to teaching continuing medical and nursing education through Symposia Medicus, I provide a number of private presentations annually.

These include programs for local, regional, or national organizations such as AWHONN & ACOG, as well as seminars and training workshops for individual hospitals and healthcare systems.

This private option allows the host to create a unique program of continuing education with content specific to the institution’s or organization’s needs. Combine EFM training with a program on documentation or risk management, or spend a day with your staff reviewing case studies on a variety of obstetric topics. Use the morning for education and the afternoon for protocol review and development, the choice is yours when you schedule a private seminar or series.

I work collaboratively with physician and nursing leadership as well as risk management (as appropriate) to create content that meets the needs of your staff or membership.

In addition to traditional seminars and workshops, live webinar options are also available.

Train-the-Trainer Sessions with Lisa A. Miller and Dr. David A. Miller

In 2009 Dr. David Miller and I worked with the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) and District II of the American Congress of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ACOG II) to provide education and training to nearly 400 obstetric providers throughout the state of New York.

The goal of the program was to create “trainers” in standardized EFM interpretation and management who would then provide education and ongoing training in their individual obstetric units.

The programs received outstanding reviews with an overall satisfaction score of 4.91 out of a possible 5.0. The full report on this groundbreaking initiative in EFM can be downloaded here.

Since the New York initiative, Dr. Miller and I continue to offer train-the-trainer services for qualified organizations and healthcare systems. For detailed information and fee structure, please contact me at 360-726-6578 or via e-mail at prmes@comcast.net.
